Business Hours — Add Listing Form & Listing Detail Page
Business listings should allow users to enter their opening hours for Monday through Sunday while creating or editing a listing.
This feature should be available only for Business listings where:
hm_listing_type = business_store
Add Listing Form
The Business Hours section should be added before the Address field in the GeoDirectory Add Listing form.
Each day should include:
– Start Time
– End Time
– Off / Holiday option
Default values:
– Monday–Friday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
– Saturday–Sunday: Off / Holiday
When Off / Holiday is selected, the Start Time and End Time fields should be disabled.
Time options should be available in 30-minute intervals using a 12-hour AM/PM format.
Listing Type Rules
If the listing type is:
Business (business_store)
– Show the Business Hours section.
Practitioner (practitioner)
– Do not show or add the Business Hours section.
Edit Existing Listing
When editing an existing Business listing, previously saved business hours should automatically populate in the form.
The user should be able to update the hours and save the changes.
Data Storage
Business hours for all seven days should be stored against the Business listing.
Each day should store:
– Opening time
– Closing time
– Off/Closed status
Times should be stored internally in 24-hour HH:MM format and displayed to users in 12-hour AM/PM format.
Listing Detail Page
Business hours should be displayed on the listing detail page using the Divi Theme Builder – All Places template.
The section should display each day and its corresponding hours.
Example:
Monday — 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Tuesday — 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Wednesday — 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Thursday — 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Friday — 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Saturday — Closed
Sunday — Closed
Days marked as Off / Holiday should display as Closed.
The current day should be visually highlighted.
The Business Hours section should not be displayed for Practitioner listings or when no business-hour data is available.
Expected Flow
Select Business Listing → Enter Business Hours → Save/Create Listing → Store Hours → Display Hours on Listing Detail Page
For existing Business listings:
Edit Listing → Load Saved Hours → Update Hours → Save → Updated Hours Display on Listing Detail Page
For Practitioner listings:
Select Practitioner → Business Hours Section Not Displayed
Acceptance Criteria
– Business Hours are available only for Business listings.
– Business Hours are not added or displayed for Practitioner listings.
– The section appears before the Address field on the Add Listing form.
– Users can select Start Time and End Time for each day.
– Time options are available in 30-minute intervals.
– Monday–Friday default to 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
– Saturday and Sunday default to Off / Holiday.
– Selecting Off / Holiday disables the corresponding time fields.
– Existing Business listings load their previously saved business hours when edited.
– Business hours are correctly saved against the Business listing.
– Saved hours are displayed on the Business listing detail page.
– Closed days display as Closed.
– The current day is visually highlighted.
– Practitioner listings do not display the Business Hours section in the form or on the listing detail page.
– Existing listing content and functionality are not affected.
Open Items
– Confirm whether the Business Hours field should be optional or required for Business listings.
– Confirm the Business Hours section position on the listing detail page.
– Confirm whether 30-minute intervals are sufficient or 15-minute intervals are required.
– Confirm whether the Business Hours section should still be displayed when all seven days are marked as Closed.
